Buy XMR: the fastest way to get Monero.

XMR is not on Coinbase. It was removed from Binance. Here is the fastest way to acquire it from wherever you are starting.

By Published 4 min read

XMR — Monero — is not where most people look for it first. It is not on Coinbase. It was removed from Binance in 2024. The path to acquiring it is short once you know where to go, but it is not the path that first-time cryptocurrency buyers encounter naturally.

The fastest path: non-custodial swap

If you hold any cryptocurrency — Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, Litecoin, Solana, or any of hundreds of others — you can have XMR in your wallet in about three minutes. No account creation. No identity documents. No waiting for verification. A non-custodial swap service takes your asset and sends Monero directly to your wallet address.

On Terce: select send asset → enter amount → enter your XMR wallet address → send funds → Monero arrives. 340+ supported assets. Rate locked at confirmation.

What you need before you start

A Monero wallet address to receive the XMR. Feather Wallet is the recommended option for desktop — download from featherwallet.org, create a wallet, copy the address that begins with "4". Cake Wallet works for mobile on iOS and Android. The whole wallet setup takes about two minutes and the address is ready to use immediately.

If you are starting from zero

If you hold no cryptocurrency at all, you need one additional step. Acquire any cryptocurrency through whatever on-ramp is available to you — a bank-linked exchange, a credit card purchase of USDT, a Bitcoin ATM. Then swap that asset for XMR. The on-ramp may require KYC. The swap to XMR does not.

Why XMR and not something else

XMR is the only major cryptocurrency with mandatory privacy on every transaction. Ring signatures, stealth addresses, and RingCT apply to every send — not as an option you have to enable but as the default state of the protocol. If you want a cryptocurrency where your transaction history is not permanently public, XMR is the most technically robust option available.

You do not need an account, a verification document, or a reason. You need a wallet address and something to send. Terce handles the rest.
